Sarah Perretta

My name is Sarah Peretta, and I am running for a term for the Hammond Central School Board of Education.  Not only am I a resident of Hammond, but I am also an alumni of the Class of 1994 and my children attend HCS.  After graduation I obtained a degree in Business from SUNY Jefferson.  From there I attended SUNY Potsdam and obtained a degree in Secondary English, a masters degree in Education with a major in Secondary Education for Grades Pre-K-9 with an extension for Grades 10-12 as well as Coaching Certification.  I taught at Morristown Central for 12 years and am now in my 11th year at LaFargeville Central. At both districts I have been involved with volunteer opportunities as an advisor for the Junior and Senior classes, National Honor Society, and Yearbook. Currently, I volunteer for the website design for the Annual Decoy Show sponsored by the T.I. Museum.  I am a board member of the South St. Lawrence Association and I assist with the Hammond Trap Team.  I feel that I would be an invested board member and I understand how important our small school is to our town. I am most interested in the direction of education for the current students as well as future generations of my community. Most importantly, I look forward to being a voice for the community and to continue to make a positive impact for students, parents and educators alike
