The Hammond UPK Program can help your child develop important skills that will inspire success in kindergarten and beyond. Research has shown that students who participate in pre-kindergarten programs are:
- Better prepared to start school and tend to score higher on reading and math assessments;
- More likely to have better attendance records and fewer behavioral issues; and
- Exposed to early learning activities that boost creativity, problem solving, and social development.
If your child attended the Hammond UPK Program during the 2025-26 school year, they will be automatically enrolled in the district’s Kindergarten Program. If they did not attend UPK at Hammond this past school year, you will need to register your child.
